This Privacy Policy explains how Maxiv ("we," "our," "the Service") collects, uses, and protects your personal information. We are committed to transparency about our data practices.
The short version: we collect only what we need to provide the Service. We do not sell your data. We do not share your photos. Your data is used solely to personalize your skincare challenge and improve the product.
2. Data We Collect
We collect the following categories of data:
Quiz Answers: Skin type, budget preference, current routine, skincare goal, time availability, and emotional anchor. These are used to personalize your 28-day plan and product recommendations.
Account Information: Email address and password (hashed). Used for authentication and communication (renewal reminders only).
Challenge Progress: Days completed, streak count, task notes, and completion timestamps. Stored locally on your device and backed up to our servers.
Photos: Progress photos you voluntarily upload. Stored locally on your device. We do not access, analyze, or share your photos.
Payment Information: Processed and stored by Stripe. We receive only your subscription status and last 4 digits of your card number. We never see or store your full card number.
Usage Data: Anonymous, aggregated usage patterns (e.g., completion rates, feature usage) used to improve the product. No personally identifiable information is included.
3. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used for the following purposes only:
• Personalizing your 28-day challenge based on your quiz answers • Providing product recommendations matched to your skin type and budget • Tracking your challenge progress and streak • Processing your subscription payments • Sending renewal reminder emails (7 days before annual, 3 days before monthly) • Sending daily task reminders (if enabled in Settings) • Improving the product through anonymous, aggregated analytics
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your photos for any purpose other than displaying them back to you.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your quiz answers and challenge progress are stored locally on your device using browser localStorage. This means your data stays on your device unless you explicitly clear your browser data.
Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, which is PCI DSS Level 1 certified — the highest level of payment security certification.
Account credentials are stored with industry-standard encryption. Passwords are salted and hashed — we cannot read your password.
5. Data Retention
Your challenge progress, photos, and streak history are preserved indefinitely — even if you cancel your subscription. If you resubscribe at any time, your previous progress resumes exactly where you left off.
If you wish to delete all your data, you can clear your browser's localStorage for this site, or contact support at support@maxiv.ai and we will delete your server-side account data within 30 days.
6. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
Stripe: Payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy governs how your payment information is handled.
Affiliate Product Links: When you click a product recommendation link, you are directed to a third-party retailer's website. That retailer's privacy policy governs your experience on their site. We receive a commission on purchases made through these links at no additional cost to you.
We do not use third-party analytics services that track individual users. Our analytics are anonymous and aggregated.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
• Access your personal data at any time through the Settings page • Correct your profile information by retaking the quiz • Delete your data by clearing localStorage or contacting support • Opt out of notifications at any time from the Settings page with zero penalty • Cancel your subscription at any time with one tap • Export your data by contacting support
If you are in the European Union, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to data portability and the right to be forgotten. Contact support to exercise these rights.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify active subscribers via email.
Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
